MyMind is a website run by Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP). CWP provides NHS children and young people's mental health services (CYPMHS). We support children, young people and their families in many different ways with their mental health and wellbeing.
MyMind is for young people, parents, families and professionals working with children and young people in Cheshire and Wirral. Here you can find information on how to look after your mental health, how to access help and support, and details of support services in your local area.
How to use the website
MyMind has lots of helpful resources, including information about services that are available and how to access them, as well as self-help resources and guidance to help you to look after your own mental health and wellbeing.
The site is split into five main areas:
- About MyMind
- Helping myself
- Getting help from services
- Get involved
- I need urgent help
About MyMind
The 'about MyMind' section (where you are now) is split into three areas:
- Information for children and young people
- Information for parents and carers
- Information for professionals
Within each of these areas, you can find information about mental health more generally, the services that are available, what they do and how they can help. Use the buttons at the bottom of this page to select whether you are a young person, parent / carer or professional to find out more.
Helping myself
'Helping myself' is our self-help hub, with lots of useful information, resources and videos about how to look after your own mental health. We also signpost to other trusted websites and resources outside of CWP that may be useful. This section is aimed at anyone who may be waiting for treatment from Children and Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) or anyone who might not need support from services but wants to learn more about mental health and how to stay mentally healthy.
If at any point you feel you are experiencing a mental health crisis and need urgent support from services, you can call NHS 111 and select the mental health option to access our 24/7 mental health crisis line.
Getting help from services
This section is a directory of CWP's children and young people's mental health services which can help with a range of mental health concerns.
You can browse services by area (for example Cheshire East services, Chester West and Chester services, and Wirral services) and you will also find a 'referrals to children and young people's mental health services' page, which has all the information about how to make a referral to our services if you need help with your mental health.
Get involved
Involving children, young people and their families in improving our services is really important to us at CWP. We aim to support young people and families to tell us about their lived experience of our services and also help us think about how we can make things better in the future. Within the 'get involved' section you can find out more about this and how you can get involved, watch our patient story videos and read the latest news and blogs from across our children and young people's mental health services.
I need urgent help
If your mental or emotional state quickly gets worse and you feel like you can't cope with how you're feeling, this can be called a ‘mental health crisis’. In this situation, it is important to get help quickly. Within the 'I need urgent help' section, you can find out what support is available to help you in a mental health crisis.
